Charity Donation

Spring Grove Clinic were delighted to receive a cheque for £600 for our designated charity ECMO – part of Yorkhill Childrens Hospital

A very generous patient Elma held a garden party in her own home for friends, relatives and neighbours.  She served tea and strawberries and held various raffles.

Unfortunately the weather was not on their side but that never stopped anyone joining in.

We are overwhelmed by the generosity of others and would like to thank everyone who attended the garden party and for their donations and most of all a huge thank you to Elma for arranging the whole event.

Thank you from David & Dawn and everyone at Spring Grove Clinic!

Race for Life this Sunday 5th June 2011, Glasgow Green 9.30am

Last year Kirsty ran the Race for Life for the first time. Kirsty and her mum decided to do it in memory of a close friend and loved ones they lost last year.

It started from Glasgow green and they ran around the city centre back to the green. It was a really lovely day, sun was shining and after they had finished they treated their selves to lunch and some cocktails.

Without any training Kirsty and her mum competed the route in just under 35 minutes, this year with some training they hope to complete it much faster!

Race for Life is a very enjoyable and rewarding thing to do as you know you are helping to make difference for women all over the country. This year Kirsty and her mum have more people involved,  joining them will be her Aunt, Gran and 3 of her friends.

It’s a brilliant day out and Kirsty would encourage any ladies to register to do it!

So come on wish her luck!!…………….

A great signing for Baillieston Boys Club, Spring Grove Clinic in Garrowhill is the official sponsor of the Club providing new strips and motivation to the team. Spring Grove has supplied Baillieston Boys Clubwith a full set of Nike football team strips and matching track-suits.

Established in 2010, Baillieston Boys Club has 17 members and play in the Cumbernauld & Kilsyth League.  In this their first season they finished joint top of their league cup section and as a result of this gained entry to the under 14 league ‘A’ division.  The team also enjoyed a good run in the Scottish Cup getting to the fourth round.

“Some of the team attend Spring Grove Clinic and it is great for us to have the support of this local business especially in the current economic climate. It is very hard for youth football teams to find sponsors and it is a great boost for us to have this support. David was very enthusiastic from the outset in the various meetings held with our fund raising team. The whole team would like to thank David and his team for their tremendous contribution to our season!” David Dow (Head Coach).

Dr David Cunningham leading the Spring Grove Clinic dental practice team in Garrowhill said, “I am delighted to sponsor Baillieston Boys Club.  Football is such a great way for children to keep active and all credit to the coaches and supporters who encourage the children and give their time to run this important local team.”

Spring cleaning all done at Spring Grove Clinic

We are so privileged here at SGC to have so many lovely patients. So we thought we would give our Testimonial page a little bit of zing by adding some new Videos.
Natalie has been overwhelmed with the amount of lovely patients to pick but has decided on a few. She wishes she could have all the SGC patients come along and do one but there simply is not enough hours in the day.
We will be contacting our kind patients who have offered to volunteer and we will be having a little lunch, chat and of course one of the renowned coffees from the SGC coffee machine.
SGC is looking forward to this day coming up at the end of the month – it will be full of laughter as always!
Natalie would like to let all her SGC patients know that if they would like to take part in one of our videos for the website…. Please do not be shy. Or maybe even a written testimonial? Of course… if you haven’t already seen some of our existing Testimonials by SGC’s life long friends please do pop over to our site and have a little nosey. “

Wish Nicola Luck!!!

Nicola Perry

Nicola - going for it!

On the 14th of May 2011, Our Nicola will be participating in a charity cycle around Millport for the 2nd Year running for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Nicola has taken part in numerous events to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust. The reason being, in November 2009, Nicola lost her close friend Elaine Davidson to a Tumour in the brain which she fought on and off for 3 years.

Elaine actively supported the Teenage Cancer Trust charity throughout her illness, and had arranged many nights with the help of her Family & friends to raise money for this wonderful charity.

As Elaine passed away in November 2009 all her friends and family have continued supporting this charity as this is what Elaine would have wanted.

All the team at Spring Grove Clinic would like to wish her luck!!!

Our newest ‘Guardian’

We would like to welcome our newest team member at SGC -  Natalie Johnston.

Natalie is a qualified Dental Nurse and has been  for 7 years.  She worked in an Oral Surgery Clinic for 4 years before joining Spring Grove Clinic.  “I love being a Dental Nurse but also enjoy being on Reception to, as I love chatting and getting to know the patients”.

Natalie says – “When the opportunity arrived to become a part of the Spring Grove team I jump at the chance, since then I have never looked back

During my short time here I have learned lots of new and interesting things although I have dental background things are different here so now I am educated the SGC way. All the staff have made me feel so welcome and already I feel like one of the team. All the patients have been so friendly, even though there are now 2 Natalie’s to confuse them I am now known as senior Natalie as I am the oldest.

I look forward to meeting the rest of the patients here and building relationships with them!

There she goes again!

Before Gillian had her daughter Ayla, who is nearly 5, she ran a few 10k’s. September last year Gillian decided to get back into running and joined a running club. At Christmas she applied to take part in a 5k, which was postponed until January due to the bad weather conditions. Gillian thought about the 10k this year but didn’t think she was ready yet. After pressure from her friends (only joking) she decided to push herself and wanted to take the challenge.

Gillian and her friends have been training hard for this event – you may have seen them in the local area.

As always she is looking for support from everyone and asks if you could make a little donation to help her.

1. You can sponsor her by dropping in to the Practice or over the telephone 0141 771 0800

2. You can donate via our website – http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=ecmofund

3. You can donate via Gillian’s personal just giving page – http://www.justgiving.com/gillian-cochrane/

Introducing our new coffee cups!

Introducing Air Abrasion!!!

At Spring Grove Clinic, we pride ourselves at being able to provide our patients with the best care, newest dental equipment and materials available on the market, to allow our patients to have the best smiles in the UK.  We are very proud to introduce to you all……Air Abrasion.

This state of the art machine, transforms tired, dull looking teeth into dazzling white smiles in a matter of minutes, and has become a new favourite with many celebrities.

Air abrasion, is a great new dental innovation that allows dentists and hygienists, to perform a range of dental treatments without having to use a drill. The process works by having a device which acts like a tiny sandblaster, to spray away stain and other undesirables from your teeth.

Air abrasion, uses a stream of fine particles, which, when aimed at the surface of the tooth will remove stains such as tea/coffee/red wine/food stains and stains caused by smoking. Air Abrasion is also excellent at removing plaque and tartar, for that fabulous clean feeling. The particles used in air abrasion, are usually made of silica, aluminium oxide or a mixture of baking soda. This is combined with high pressure air and water for the maximum cleaning result.

Air abrasion is also great before and after whitening to initiate and enhance the result you get from whitening.

Why not book today and treat yourself or a loved one to this fabulous  new dental experience!!!

Gillian looking fab!

The snow and ice are nearly away….

But there is no stopping our Gillian in this weather as she will be raising funds this weekend for our Charity ECMO. Gillian and friends will be running a 5k Christmas Cracker on Sunday at Strathclyde Park. This was postponed til this year due to adverse weather conditions. The SGC gang have been “geeing” Gillian up all this week to get her head in the zone.

Come on guys… Let’s wish our Gillian luck in this special event this weekend. Any last minute donations would be grately appreciated. You can donate in the practice or via our website.
