Six Month Smiles
Six Month Smiles braces are ideal if you want straighter teeth in less time than with traditional fixed metal braces. Six Month Smiles are super discreet, as they’re made from tooth-coloured wires and clear brackets, making the fact that you’re wearing braces hard to spot. As the name suggests, it may be possible to straighten your teeth and smile with confidence in just six months.
- Fast-acting braces
- Discreet teeth straightening
- Make life-changing cosmetic improvements to your smile
- 0% or low-interest finance options available
Six Month Smiles is a great option if you’re looking for quick braces, or you’re most concerned about straightening the teeth that people can see when you smile. We call these teeth the ‘social six’ because they’re the ones that are most visible in social situations.
This brace system can make life-changing cosmetic changes to your teeth that will give you confidence in your smile, which is fantastic news if you’ve spent years finding ways to hide your teeth. If your case is more complex, we may suggest a different invisible brace or aligner option, but this is something that we would discuss with you in detail at your initial consultation.
Can you really give me straight teeth in six months?
Teeth straightening in six months is possible with Six Month Smiles, but it will depend on your individual case. When you come in for a consultation, we will give you our expert advice and recommendations, based on what we think would be best for you.
How does Six Month Smiles work?
Six Month Smiles braces work in much the same way as traditional braces, using a system of wires and brackets to apply low forces to your teeth and gradually move them from A to B. The reason the treatment times are shorter is that Six Month Smiles focus on making cosmetic changes to your smile, rather than correcting your bite.
Do Six Month Smiles braces hurt?
You might think that, in order to move your teeth faster, Six Month Smiles need to apply greater force and might therefore be painful to wear. In fact, people report increased comfort with Six Month Smiles. You may feel some pressure in the first few days after your braces are fitted or each time they’re adjusted, but this usually passes quickly.
Will people know that I’m having orthodontic treatment?
If someone is standing very near to you to chat, they may notice that you’re wearing braces, but the fact that you’re having treatment won’t be obvious at a glance. Six Month Smiles are incredibly discreet – the wires are colour-matched to your teeth and the brackets are clear.
Could Six Month Smiles braces damage my teeth?
There are no more risks of root damage or other issues than those associated with traditional metal braces. As the forces used by Six Month Smiles are lighter and it is unlikely that we will need to extract any of your teeth before we begin your treatment, there are actually fewer risks with Six Month Smiles.
Will I need to wear a retainer at the end of my treatment?
Yes, as with any orthodontic treatment, you should wear a retainer after your treatment to help your teeth stay in their correct position as the jaw bone strengthens around them. We’ll give you a detailed retention plan, and explain your options for a retainer – from a removable aligner to a fixed retainer on the back of your teeth. Over time, you may only need to wear your retainer at night.
